Comments: I remember leaving the Regal in 1967 the night of the biggest snow storm IN Chicago. My sister Marlena, her friend Lynette and I had no idea what was waiting for us. We had to end up walking all the way home from 63rd Cottage Grove to 95th Harvard. It was worth it, because the show was absolutely fantastic.

Comments: I am looking for a program. poster, flyer, etc. advertising the May 13, 1960 show at the Regal. It featured Redd Foxx, Ernie Fields (with me), Frankie Lymon, Irma Thomas, Billy Bland, Bill Black's Combo and one or two others. Do you have complete information? Thanks, David.

Comments: This site pretty much made me cry. What an awesome tribute to Chicago. What about Maxine Brown? I'm looking forward to the comedy site. I remember seeing Redd Foxx and Pig Meat Markum, as well as Moms. Everyone I send this to thanks me. I want to thank you.

Comments: I have very rich memories of the Regal Theater in Chicago. I saw the Motortown Revue a few times when a kid and teen, also many other popular black entertainers. We stayed at a "black" hotel near the Regal every year we went. Our last visit was in 1967, the year I graduated from high school. We would also go to Harlem's Apollo Theatre during the 50's and 60's. We stayed at another popular "black" hotel there every year. Again I saw some Motortown Revues, Mom's Mabley, the Duke of Earls's Gene Chandler, and many others.
