Subhash,
Fans of Pancham who see this site will forever bless such a noble enterprise as you have undertaken... Like someone before me said, life without Pancham is unimaginable, he is "a part of our system" - to borrow a phrase from Gulzar.
Few know he was a classical genius far better than all those pundits (learnt the sarod from Ustad Ali Akbar and played marvellously, plus the mouth organ), as well as a wildly imaginative trend-setter and innovator who could do anything with music (e.g. - use of the gargling sound of a chorus girl from Belgium - who incidentally had a sore throat that day - for "Babu"'s entry in "Satte pe Satta"), but was always, always melodious and far far better than anyone can even aspire to be...
In addition to all this, he was soooo friendly, noble, gentle and respectful to one and all... A master as genuine and as great as he, never needs to blow his own trumpet anyway...
His tunes themselves, in addition to those amazing synchronisations, arrangements and mind-blowingly complex music were all at a height unattainable to anyone who will ever follow... Some songs were a challenge for the singer, and almost all for the fabulous musicians in his troupe...
He was quite simply the GOD of all GODs in music !!!
What we owe to him we can never repay - but this site is a really praise-worthy effort...
God bless Pancham wherever the dear soul is today.. And God bless you too, hope we all are children of the same God and he takes us all to where Pancham is, when our time comes :)
Heartfelt thanks, and keep up the great work... Pancham is still alive, will always remain alive...
