There are already other Poe novels entitled "Nevermore," and Lord knows how many screenplays, stage plays, etc. There seems to be some sort of unwritten law that you can't write any sort of fiction about Poe without putting "Nevermore" or "Raven" in the title. Odd, that.

I've always found Virginia an intriguing character--someone who has never been done justice by most Poe biographers. (The whole emphasis on the "child-wife" thing really gets on my nerves. For pete's sake, she was a woman of twenty-four when she died! Let the poor thing grow up!) Anyway, I hope your novel gives her her due.
