Comments: Amazed by all research you've done. I am the gggg g'daughter of George Westlake (1793)& Mary Cox, & gg g'daughter of Thomas Scriven. Couple things might be of interest - Thomas Scriven married Betsy (Elizabeth)Sandford 1874 Long Sutton (Betsy b 1853 Muchelney - parents William Sandford and Ann Clark). I think Thomas was the one born to Jane Westlake @ Henry Scriven in 1852 (rather than the Thomas b. Mar 1848 - I think his death may be registered in Jun 1848 &, presumably, that's why they named another son Thomas). Anyway, in addition to the Emily & Alice you list as children, they also had William c 1882, Rosina (Rosie) - my g. grandmother, 1884-1977, Albert c 1888, Anthony c 1890, Henry, c 1894, Leonard, c 1899. Rosie m Frank Lock & had Hilda Frances (1902-1994)- my gran, May Elizabeth Bessie (1904-1992) Elsie (1906-1999) and Violet, b & died 1910. In response to an item on your guest book, I believe William Westlake's (1721) wife's name was Mary Snell

Comments: my westlake was elizabeth westlake she married my great great grandfather thomas dyer from long sutton in somerset england she was born in 1828 i think she married thomas in the 1850s she brought a ten year old daughter with her named ann westlake any info welcome thanks lyndon.

I have an Elizabeth Westlake that was daughter of George and Mary (COX) Westlake that was born abt 1831. Possibly this might be your Elizabeth? I do not have anything further on her though. Perhaps you'll need to send for some documents from England to find more out. I'll send you an email.

Comments: My ancestor: Geo W Ellison may have been the son of Owen John Ellison and Mary Westlake. My bro just checked his DNA into anc.com and there were no Westlakes listed. The sister of Geo W Ellison was Hannah Ellison Gardner, NY State. Ancestry.com has many Gardners on its DNA listings.

You did not include any dates with your info. I don't see any Ellison's or Gardner's in my tree at this point in time. Perhaps if you included dates and locations, I might be able to see if I have any Westlake's in the area at the time your family was there.
