Comments: i work for uhau and i have worked there for over 2 years now, i am the only female hitch mechanic on the east coast. and in my marketing company i am the best. the training i had was enough, they showed me first and then i had a certified hitch mechanic work with me on the hitches for the first 3 months i was doing them. i will tell there are some uhauls out there that do not know what they are doing.if another location can not do the hitch job they send it to me. it all depends on the area and you can tell by the way the employees respond to ur questions.

Comments: I just started working for UHaul... it's awful. I've been there for four days now, and have recieved no training what-so-ever. And I'm dealing with customers. I have people asking me questions that I have no idea how to answer. I have no idea what I'm selling or renting. I told my boss that, and she said it was fine. That after a few months I would know a little more. I thought customer service was important, but apparently not. We rent out our entire stock on the weekends for 8 hours at a time (even though a 24 hour rental is the same price) and just keep on taking reservations. If we don't have a truck, we tell them that either they can come back, or they can go to one of the other stores. I think it's insane.
***Gabriel Says- Whoa! thanks for the comments. I've calmed down alot in the past few years and I understand part of the problem is the demand is higher than the supply, I think Uhaul trailers are great and maybe that should be a focus for the company.

Comments: Get a non-Uhaul hitch from one of these places

Funny that link brings you to 4 of the 5 companys uhaul uses for hitches. Uhaul does not make their own hitches. They are Curt/Drawtite/valley/Reese. Only difference is a sticker that says uhaul instead of the factory that produced it. Kind of like buying Stop n Shop Noodles that are made by another company with a stop n shop label. The hitches are not the problem, the problem is a Huge company who underpays their employees. Would kind of be like trying to get professional service from Walmart
*Gabriel says-yes I understand the outsourcing, I would rather people spend their money at some place that isn't uhaul!
