Have Great memories of Sneads Ferry. Growing up on Peru Road. Hanging out at Swans Point Marina drinking Moutian Dews out of the Bottle... as a kid back in mid to late 70's. Washing Dishes at the Bayview rest. and Bagging Groceries at the IGA...Clamming everyday in the summer and Stuffing a $20 dollar bill in my muddy jeans... Popping the heads off Shrimp behind the Riverview Restaurant...and flounder Gigging with a flat boat and car batteries for the lights. Getting mom to Take us to North Topsail to hang out at the pier for the day. Good times and of Course the Shrimp festival when i was a kid...eating so much I felt like a tick. Catching mullet and spot and listening to the fisherman's odd accents " caught me a mess"o" spo "h"..." (no "t" for some reason)...Steaming oysters over a fire in a big Stainless steal tub and hushpuppies and good coleslaw. just laying on the dock on a summer night watching the shooting stars and listening to the sounds of the sound.
