My father worked on the base for the Tumpane company. I have very fond memories of growing up there, remembering my mother driving from the base to the town with no posted speed limit in a 1970's Town and Country Station wagon. I also recall the cold, cold winters and the beautiful scenery. I plan to go back there and take pictures.

My wife and I was statoned at Glasgow 1965-1968, our first child was born at the hospital. I was in the Base Fire Department. We both loved it, enjoyed the trips to Fort Peck and going to the mountains playing in the snow middle of June.

I was stationed at GAFB Jun 66 to Jul 68. I was in 91st Supply Squadron. Loved the base. Great times, great frinds. Was a charter member of the GAFB Little Theatre Group. We did "Bus Stop", "Boeing, Boeing!", "Period of Adjustment" and a Melodrama at Ft. Peck Theater. Wonderful times, wonderful memores. I love this site and would like to see more pictures of the base facilties..like bowling alley, Library, cafeteria, BX, Chapel, Hosp, etc. Amazed to see pix of 91st SS Dorm where I lived. Anyone else out there from Supply? Regards to all fellow GAFBites!!! Scotty

My first duty station out of tech school was Glasgow AFB. I arrived in the late summer and I remember asking why the issue of the special winter clothing. I found out. Volunteered several times to TDY to get out of the cold. I had a Corvair Monza which got around great in the snow after digging it out. I remember the great steaks at Sam's once a month on payday. The last year that I was there the tavern on the road to town burnt down and guys in the barracks were coming back with charred cases of beer which they drank up. The guys who hunted were in seventh heaven. I was in the 68th Munitions Maintence squadron.
