Comments or Questions: My grandfather Edgar Phillips travelled on the HMT Ceramic, to India, as a soldier of the 25th London regt., in 1916. We published a book about his years in India called "Sunlight and Blue Shadow" (see www.norkbooks.com) - the 1st chapter briefly describes the voyage out.
He returned to the UK in 1919 on another ship, the "Lancashire".
