Comments: I just found my birth family after 15 years of off and on searching and I really can relate to some of the things you have said in your story. I too expected some different type of person, like I was waiting for a knight in shining armor or something!! I am glad that I searched and found my birth parents, but I feel very overwhelmed at times. They think they can call me all the time!! Sometimes I like it and like you sometimes I am convienently not at home. It is very hard, but it helps to know the truth. Thank you for your story.

Comments: Your story was very exciting. I hope to see more in the near future. I am also an adoptee. The people who adopted me were a wealthy and extremely abusive couple and as a result, I suffered many scars which I am trying to recover from. 8 years ago, I searched and found my real mother and we had a wounderful, close relationship until she died. It was truly, as many adoptees state, the best experience of my life. My mother was absolutely awesome.

There appears to be a large amount of adult adoptees who are speaking out about the abuse we suffered at the hands of dysfunctional adoptive parents. It is sad that beneath all of the adoption lies we also had to endure abuse lies, as well. It's truly a shame...
