Comments: Don't know if you remember me, but I was the guy that saw Kathleen Turner in Tallulah! in Boston and thought her Bob Mackie gowns upstaged her performance.

Thought of you last Saturday, when I saw Valerie Harper in "Looped", another reincarnation of Tallulah. It was good, but a bit cleaned up for the Palm Beach crowd.

A couple of memorable lines: "Everyone has vices Darling. It's just that all of mine come out and play at once."

And the other naughty one...

"Don't you ever touch my pocketbook! Touching my pocketbook is like touching my vagina! The only difference darling,there's a limit to how much I can put in my pocketbook."

Ms Harper had Tallulah's essence, but couldn't quite keep the deeper cadences in voice consistent.

Comments: Tallulah's Daddy's Parlor Settee. I purchased this piece this morning on a whim; sadly, I have no place for it. Original to the furnishings of Tallulah's father's house, it is a high-end Chippendale Revival style piece with expertly carved ball-and-claw legs front and rear; the silk velvet upholstery is not original to the piece, but, it is in very good condition. Presently, the piece is in the parlor of Mr. Speaker Bankhead's house at Jasper AL, and, being that the property has been sold to a non-profit foundation as its future headquarters, the piece must be removed within ten days. $400, buyer to pay shipping and handling cost.



MY REPLY:

Thank you so very much for your kind offer but, unfortunately, living in an NYC apartment, I am unable to accommodate this piece in my limited space. (It's funny though that I do own similar one, and that it's in my bedroom, at the foot of the bed.)

Because of the Provenance of this piece, I truly would have loved to have owned it,yes,truly; regretably, I must pass.

I do hope it finds an excellent placement, a cherished repose.
