I am stupefied that you can write a book such as you have and still manage a hog farm...this is how you treat your "FRIENDS"?Your book sounds endearing yet in your lifeyou keep em and send them off to be killed? Perhaps I'm missing something. I am assuming it's not a pig sanctuary as you called it a large scale(intensive farming?)hog FARM... Seems a bit disingenuous of you to profit from your stories of cute pigs while at the same time,...you get my drift,I imagine. Please respond,
Brenda B.-Thomas
Brenda:
Thank you for visiting my site, and for your comments. You are missing something indeed! You have jumped to the same conclusions, and made the same assumptions, that others who have visited the site have made, without the benefit of having read the book.
This is the true story of an experience that I had years ago when I accepted a job as manager of a commercial hog farm. I began this employment, as many new employees do, with an eagerness to please my employer, and to do a good job. When I left the job, I realized that I had learned not only about hog farming, but also much about the nature of pigs themselves. It caused me to reflect on other pigs that I had known throughout my life, and eventually this book was born! (it was the product of many years of sporadic writing).
This book is not a book about the glories or the horrors of hog farming. It is a true story about pigs, about me, about life, and...in some ways, it is a book about love. The hog farm in an oblique way, really only provides the setting. Readers will be free to draw their own conclusions about hog farming.
I think it would be great if you could check out a copy of the book from a library, or better yet, buy a copy! Then, read the complete book. I would be very interested in your comments then. I hope you won't be too quick to judge a whole book merely by it's cover.
Thanks for writing,
Vally

Don't really have comments about pigs.
I just want you to know I really miss
you as a boss. I hope things are fine with you. BTW, me and Jerry had a baby girl named Isabella 2 years ago.
Things are great! You are a great influence to me and will always be grateful.
