Hi,
I am Thao Tran, an Econ PhD student at Harvard from Vietnam. I come across your emails from the website of your VSA and I'm writing to you to introduce a charity project for disadvantaged children in Vietnam in the hope that you would join with us in this effort for good cause.
Our project, name "Den troi xuong pho" (Sky lantern to earth), aims to assist disdavatanged children (those with disabilities, those of minority ethnicity, those live in remote and difficult areas and those who live on the streets) by giving them gift packages with basic neccessities (rice, iodized salt, sugar, clothes and pens, notebooks for those who still go to school) and organizing fun-day activities for them.
This series of project is organized wholly by young people, mostly students both in Vietnam and overseas. We did one project for Mid-Autmn which turned out to be a great success benefiting over 800 kids in 3 different regions of Vietnam.

This time, we raise fund by selling handmade Christmas and New Year greeting cards. The cards are made in Vietnam and shipped abroad for distribution. Although our project team is based in Vietnam (HCMC), we dearly want to make this a joint-effort of Vietnamese youths everywhere. Therefore, we'd like to invite VSA Clumbia Universiy to join with us in our current and future projects.
I attach herewith an official inviation letter from the organizers which suggests the method for cooperation as well as a presentation file about who we are and what we do.
