Mrs. Yvette Walker-Hollis: First giving thanks to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and for giving you a vision to create and pick up where what was the best interracial magazine in the world, "INTERRACE" founded by Candy Mill and her husband Gabe Gosz from 1989 to 1999. I was a very strong supporter of this magazine because it stood for everything that I believe in. I even had two or three letters published in their magazine.

I have been looking for such a magazine since then. Now thanks to you Yvette, I have found one. I guess that I should start by explaning a little about myself. I was born an African American man,growing up in Denver, Colorado from a little kid through high school. I was blessed to have grown up in a multiracial neighborhood my whole life.

My two brothers, my sister and I were also blessed by God to have parents that taught us that it never mattered to them what race/nationality of girls my brothers and I dated or what race of boys my sister dated and married. So, when I had a little high school crush and lated dated a cute little Hispanic girl. It was Not a problem for my parents to meet her. I am dark brown skinned in complexion, but my grandmother on my mother's side is very light and half American Indian and a little bit Latin I think, but I do not know what latin race exactly. My brothers, sister nor I appear to be mixed at all.

Even as a teen ager, I have always been attracted to women of other nationalities/races and including my own race. I truly believe that that there is beauty in all races. However since my first high school girlfriend, I have and still am more strongly attracted to Hispanic/Latin women, which include Italians too. So, after dating several Latin women in my young life, I eventually married a beautiful Hispanic woman from Latin Central America. On the subject of bi-racial children and people, I have to say that 8 out of 10 are good looking judging by the examples of such known people like Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, Kristoff St.John, Shemar Moore, Jennifer Beals and many others known and unknown in the world. Every time, I see an interracial couple in public, I feel real good inside and it so great to see that the woman is black and the man is white or some other nationality for a change. When I see that, I always think that the world is becoming a better place with love, the God sees it and hate is dwendling.

NOTE: I would like to include a photo of my wife and I on your web site as well as my youngest son and his future wife, who is also Hispanic as well.

I have written a children's book that address issues that biracial and multiracial people face on a day to day bases. My book is entitled Dirty Sally the untold stories of mixed race children who find a new identity, love, faith and forgiveness through GOD. This book focuses on the misconceptions surrounding racial identity and the importance of choosing one’s racial identity. Dirty Sally is a must read not only for inter-racial families, but for all parents hoping to instill in their children a sense of understanding and compassion.
I believe that change requires resistance and within that process we can help heal some of the wounds that continue to inflict on racially mixed children.One important aspect of being a Christian is our character, which should include a spirit of obedience. Do we follow God’s instruction on occasion but ignore Him the rest of the time? An obedient spirit follows the Lord’s guidance, no matter what including children. God knows what lies within our heart. What He sees is our true character, and it should line up with the way we handle life situations and we tell others to glorify Him. I also believe that those who deliberately make children feel bad about themselves, race, ethnicity and who focus their aggression on the less powerful—poison the world in which we live.
