I have played as a substitute percussionist in the the Karl King Band here in Fort Dodge, and am a member of the King Ringers--a handbell ensemble named for the legendary bandmaster of our community, directed by Cathy Moklebust of Eagle Grove, Iowa. She has arranged several of King's pieces for handbells, most notably "Barnum and Bailey's Favorite", "A Night in June" and "Rough Riders". She is also a percussionist in the King Band.
Suggestions:
Come to Fort Dodge in the summertime and take in a Sunday evening King Band concert at Oleson Park!

Sorry to hear you have left the podium, but you were waving the baton for quite a while.
I gave up my band journal in 1998. I figured 25 years of writing was enough. I still have my `10,000 band pieces in my library however.
