Comments: Safety is an attitude . If you change the way you look at things ,things you look at will change. It is important that all fallers get over themselves and look out for each other. Some of the comments I read and the fallers reasons for non compliance are just not founded. Until we as a group quit dividing our points of veiw to suit our own personal habits, we will always be last.Yes, we are independent but that goes to a guys head.Fallers are a stuborn bunch and it takes time to make changes. I see some very positive changes along with some that are not going anywhere. I have a plan.

Comments: just a heads up to holders of Pencorp insurance policys to check exactly what you are covered for.because of late i had to have a operation and after 12years of making monthly payments i find out i'm only covered for accidents nothing else.my fault for not staying on top of things.i just don'nt want to see anybody else out of pocket because of a mere over site.

Comments: Hi everyone. I was just curious on how I would enroll in the "New Fallers training" at the North Island College. I'm not a new faller but am interested in coming to BC to start falling. I have a few years logging back on the East Coast, i'm sure the standards are quite differen't and the wood different in ways too. But anything to help me get started would be appreciated. And just to not the site is very a nice and easy site to surf, full of useful interesting info. SO yea anyone can get back to me, my email is red_barchetta22@hotmail.com. Thx

Tyler

Comments: hi i see i made it famous. The picture on the cover of june's W.F.A newsletter is a picture of me standing in front of a big red cedar. It messured 11 foot 7 inside the bark across the back cut.it's taken in august 2003 right above Quatsino picture taken by Larry Lister with my digital camera.i have fell on the coast 11 years or so.did the retention falling, which is a pian in the rear.In the block i had to fall 8-10 red cedars balsam hemlocks not quite as big,but they wanted 40% retention.i currently work with injuries that flair up at time but hey i am certified and need to provide for my family.i am not the only one that does this i have met many faller's that do to get a pay check rather than try and get a meager bit of coin from WCB.so there we are working so our rates don't go up,and that we can make enough money to pay the bill's and feed the family. Also what about our rates as fallers weren't they making pretty much the same amount for the last 10 years? What the hell's with that? There are no more creamy flat spots to fall, unless it's that 1 between the rock ledges that has good cutting for maybe half a day if yourlucky.

i have worked in the interior for almost a year.Went to the coast for break up as i could not afford the time off.i got told when i hired on up here"so your from the coast do you have any references?"i told the fellow that hired me nope.it took me about 30 minutes to perssuade him to take me out falling for a few days and that would be my reference.Seems i was up to par as i have worked for him steady for a year.and he always finds something for me to do to keep busy working.I was told that i may not make it as an interior faller due to snow conditions and the heat of summer. So proud as i am as a faller i had to prove them all wrong.

oh by the way Mike M my father in law is Jim Day who got me into falling.

anyways i have many thoughts on all issued disscused but my thoughts are scattered because it's summer and my boys need to go to the lake swimming(so does dad)
