In regards to the comment about Jon Kay checking his facts, I find he is normally right on the money about everything. If he rusteled your feathers, then you probably voted for the Obamanation!

I have an HD radio. Mine works fine at a fixed location, but a friend has a car receiver which cuts in and out in a maddening fashion as he drives. He finally disabled the HD function.--- The overall experience seems to resemble digital TV reception, the all-or-nothing aspect of digital encoding does not suit over-the-air broadcasting, where signal strength changes often. Worst example is FM radio in a moving car, it changes wildly within a few feet of motion. A little noise or fuzzy sound is tolerable, but stuttering sound or dead silence is VERY annoying. Please don't go HD thanks
