If you value your money Do Not Buy a VMI Van. They cost 60k and the lift and kneeling system always breaks costing you 1500 to fix each time...Do not wast your money on Vantage mobility.. SCAM..

Just read your article on FULL SIZE VAN VS MINI VAN conversions...
I too have had the experience of driving both full and mini vans .. though, at present I am no longer able to drive due to the advancing of my disability. I drove a full size van for well over 25 years, (I go back to where they only lovered the driver's side of the floor and put a power floor and lock down there to where they lowered the whole floor 8" with a sky light, etc) with the exception of one brief encounter with another brand name lift (which failed to deploy and caught fire) I have always used the Braun lift. The Braun is hydraulic driven and over the years have had little problems with them and up keep is very minimal. Found it dependable and if it should break down, there was always a manual way of fixing it, found it very dependable and reliable.
When we went to the Mini van, again went to the Braun line and bought an Entervan, the floor is lowered 8" and it's set up so I can move my wheelchair into the passenger side of the van and look out comfortably. If something should happen that the lift fails to deploy (which has only happened once in the 8 yrs I;ve had it), I can manually release it. Again, I trust the Braun lift and find it reliable.
I think when you get into electronic lifts such as you did with your mini van, there probably will be problems.
I am looking for another mini van and was told about the Elderado, so thank you for the warning. I will keep it in mind. .

First off, this is the 5th time I have tried to send info to you. I tried the aol addy that came back twice, then I have tried your guest book which gave codes that were impossible to read by 3 different people. I am trying one more time in hopes of getting something that is readable. Here is my comment - I was very happy to find your information about purchasing a wheelchair
van. The info was very through and accurate. One factor that was not
mentioned though was IF you purchase a 3/4 or 1 ton van AAA with not
service it in emergencies. You may not have run into this issue, but I
have had several friends who have in California. Thanks again.
