Comments: I'm looking for any photos of the 185th and for information about Company G. My 3rd great-grandfather was Orrin C. Reed who joined in Sept., 1864 at Marathon, Cortland County. He was wounded March 29th or 30th, 1865, at Lewis Farm or Gravely Run and died at City Point hospital. Herman Bunnell's newspaper clipping posted on this site described an ambush on March 29 that killed "Charles A. Bunnell and ___ Reed." I assume that Reed is Orrin. I have long been curious to find more details about his service and, in particular, about his death and would welcome any information about Company G or the Lewis Farm/Gravely Run fights.

Comments: I am the great grand-daughter of N. (Nelson) Adelbert Everson, member of the 185th, who was awarded the Medal of Honor at the Battle of Five Forks. Several years ago (10?), we had a military burial and the bronze service plaque was placed on his grave in Brewerton, NY, noting that he had served in the Civil War and held the Medal of Honor. Unfortunately, his name is wrong on the plaque: it is listed as Adelbert N.(Nelson) Everson, not N.(Nelson) Adelbert Everson--middle and first names are reversed. I did not notice this until recently--what can I do to get this changed? Thank you for any help and thank you for this site!
