Comments: Great site. Am working on a history of Wauhatchie/Brown's Ferry; and also aspects of Sherman's Campaign in S.C.. If anyone has unpublished material on either, I'd love to ehar from you. Just finished transcribing two of George G. Truair's letters and a portion of his diary -- have more to go. They're at Univ. of Texas at Austin.

Comments: My great grandfather, Patrick Heenan, was a private in the regiment. My son Conor and I went to Gettysburg 8/10-11/09. I hadn't known until just before the trip that my GGF had been there. Very moving to take my son's picture at the 149th's monument

Comments: You have a great web site. I recently found a document from John Gouse of Co D. My wife is from Syracuse, so when I go to Civil War shows I look for Syracuse documents while also looking for 34th Alabama documents. Best regards, Mike

Comments: On the Company I roster you have listed "George J. Lager" under Sergeants. This should read George J. Sager.
I'm the 3d great-grandson of his brother, Abram, who briefly served in the 76th NY Vols, mustering out with typhoid in early 1862. Another brother, Aaron Sager, also served with the 76th and was wounded at 2d Manassas.
I just finished transcribing pension records from all three at the National Archives - a wealth of information there!

Thanks for the website.

Reply: Thanks for the correction. I have made a note re the error next to his name in the roster of I Company.
