Comments: My ancestor, David H. Smith served with Co. H of the 48th. I believe he may have originally signed up with Co.C of the 38th. There is a notation on one of the 38th sites that he was wounded @ 2nd. Manassas in the hand and foot and moved into the invalid corps as a guard at Libby prison. I guess he later was transferred into the 48th but can't find a record. He finished the war and was sent to the provost in Augusta I think. Any help?

Comments: Interesting site. My husband is a member of the E.Porter Alexander Camp 158 in Augusta, Ga. Do you have a muster list of Co A of the 48th Ga Inf?
I have a family member in it.
