Effective July 1, 2007 your duty to register will NOT terminate, even if it was scheduled to under the current version of Ohio SORN. You will receive a reclassification letter from the Attorney General's Office on or before December 1, 2007 with notification of (1) the changes to Chapter 2950 that will be implemented on January 1, 2008 (2) you new classification as of January 1, 2008 (3) the duties that will exist under you classification and the duration of those duties, and Until you receive this reclassification letter and notice of new duties, must continue to register as required by current version of Ohio Sorn. Those individuals that were scheduled to complete their registration duties are again screwed by the government. I haven't been able to find and keep a job in over eight years, have been harassed by law enforcement on many occasions, and my family and I have had to move over and over again. At one point I was living in my car. How is a family to recover from this stigma? I am not a threat to the community, or even to my family. I made a mistake sixteen years ago, and will ultimately pay for it for 21 years or longer.
