I have been in prison myself for just seven months. It was an experience I hopefully will never have again for the rest of my life. But to see how US law punishes and hands out prison time makes me stunned in disbelief. I think I would have gotten five years at least for the same thing if I did what I had done in your country. Circumstances were so different doing my time in Austria - sure I felt miserable in prison... but realizig what US inmates have to suffer it makes my stay in prison seem like an extended vacation in some low grade Hotel. I know I won't bee so foolish doing anything stupid enough to be thrown in Jail again. I learned my lesson. And I am glad I learned it in a much more human way. I still cannot grasp th US correctional system - in the land of the free...
