Quigley and Varga bring new psychological depth and gentle sensuality to the classic Victorian lesbian romance of Carmilla - with a unique interpretation that blends visual elements of gothic, baroque and psychedelic space opera with subtlety, poetry and elegance. Carmilla was pivotal in the 19th Century horror genre, creating the lesbian sex vampire and, by extension, the Vamp. Wildly plagiarized in more films than Dracula, Quigley and Varga have gone back to the original phantasmagorical text, capturing the dream-like haunting erotica and bringing new life to one of the greatest tragic love stories in literature. In total, some 20+ images will complete this work making it a comprehensive and dramatic production. The next remarkable element of this project is that Quigley and Varga live on different continents. This would certainly have been a problem for Artist and Muse in the past but with the advancements in this electronic era they are never far apart. Digital images taken with specific expressions in mind are captured by Varga in California and then emailed of to London where Quigley downloads and prints them out for reference. As Varga is a very accomplished model and has a library of 1000 and 1000 of images CD's of images have also been sent to London for Quigley to reference. These component and more - make this an incredibly memorable, visually stimulating and ground breaking experience. Artist Vlad Quigley: A London based artist, Quigley's genius has had him drawing horror comics, Scream Queens, art for rock acts and historical adoptions of literature.
