Comments: My dear lady... After reading some of the other entries into this guestbook, I saw that my previous entry was sorely lacking. If you would please be so kind as to delete it, I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.
To say that this humble but loveable website brought back memories is an understatement. The girlish heart that has resided within me since I was very young was always meant to be free, even if I were not born female as I should have been. At the age of 5, my best friend and adopted "twin sister" (as we thought of ourselves as twins, even though we were not at all related by blood) was kind enough to share her things with me. Everything from her sailor suit school uniforms to her skirts, petticoats and Mary Jane shoes. This was in the Japan of the very late 1950's when girls were still girls, even then. I don't know what you would call them today, but the girls of this time are not at all the sweet and charming friends I had when I was a little person. Something has been lost, and while I try to put my finger on exactly what that is, this humble site has reminded me of it. It was a slower and more civilized time when ladies wore hats and gloves. When little girls like myself wore darling petticoats of silk and taffeta under our skirts and dresses. Thank goodness that I was fortunate enough to be a part of that last generation of truly feminine girls. Girls who valued the traditional womanly arts. Girls who were honest and trustworthy. Girls who dressed like little ladies because they had respect for themselves and for others. Girls who wanted to be just like their Mothers out of love, and that's who I am. The Rush Limbaughs and the other talking heads who profess to be so moral and so much better than me may see me only as some kind of pervert or sexual deviant, but I am a lady, like my Mother before me.
