I met Sonny about 18 years ago when I was about 12 years old. I found out Sonny was a cousin to me. My great grandmother and Idona (Sonny's mom) were cousins. My family and I was taking a trip to FL and decided to stop in GA to visit Idona. She set it up and took us over to Sonny's house. I can remember as a kid just being amazed. I was in an actualy movie star's house. When we arrived he was filming a fishing show with Bill Dance (I think that was his name) so we got to finish watching that. We visited with him for quite a while. He is a down to earth guy and sweet as can be. We met his wife Paula and one of their sons. I dont remember if it was Mark or Chris. When it was time to leave Sonny and Paula invited us back our next Spring Break, but we never did go back. I would like to go back sometime and see them. His mother was the sweetest lady ever. We stayed at her house for a weekend. She has since passed away back in 2002. That is my experience with Sonny. It was a vacation I will never forget. It was even better than Disney World.

Interesting enough, Sonny Schroyer (Enos) was at the store doing an autograph appearance and I strolled up to say "hello." As our conversation progressed, we started talking about fishing and the next thing you know, I pick him up from the store and we're off night fishin' in Garden City, SC. I really do not get star struck when I meet a celebrity but I thought it was really cool fishin' with the guy I grew up watching on tv and then to find out, he's darn near has the same personality as he did on the show. We fished until about 2 a.m. and we stopped for a midnight snack at Denny's and when I pulled out of the place, I get pulled over by the cops (for not having my headlights on in the rental car). I told the cop, "You're not going to give a police officers chauffeur a ticket are you?" Obviously with a confused look on his face, I said, "Look! It's your buddy Enos from the Dukes of Hazzard." The cop replies, "I'll be dammed. It is!" Needless to say, it was pretty comical and definately memorable. I'm sure Sonny's friends/family will stroll along your site and they should be most appreciative of it. I don't think Sonny messes with the computer but I'm sure he'll hear about it!
