Hello there!
Just did a google search and found myself looking at your family tree and trying to work out how we're related! You must have spent an age on this and i'm suitably impressed. Not sure if it makes any different but I could supply further details if required, plus a couple of spellings on my dad and brother?
I hope you don't mind me asking but how did you start all of this?
Kind regards, Alex

I remember corresponding with you about the HAWKE family. Now today I found your website quite by chance. It's a great family history site! But I notice that you have not yet added Kate Mary MITCHELMORE as the spouse of William Henry HAWKE (m. 1882q1). I found some other data about William Henry. Here are my full notes (summarised on my web site:
1861 census: not in Dartmouth--family presumably still in Cornworthy
1881 census: commercial clerk [in father's corn and coal merchant business] living with parents and family in Foss St., Dartmouth
1889 Kelly's: Insurance agent for Royal Exchange, Higher Mount Galpin (also private residence)
1891 census: Coal, corn and general merchant, aged 30, b. Dartmouth, lviing with wife and 4 children in Mount Galpin, Townstal
Birthplaces of children: moved to South Brent about 1893.
1901 census: Coal and corn merchant, aged 40, b. Dartmouth, living with wife and 3 children in South Brent, Devon.
1914 Kelly's: railway goods delivery agent and "miller (water)" in South Brent. A "Hawke & Co., coal merchants, Fore st." was also present in nearby Ivybridge.
1917: Miller, living at Millswood Cottage, South Brent [source: Michael Thompson--but his source not clear, may be in error]
Keep up the good work!
Mike

My grandfather's name was GOARD and supposedly came from Lands End back in the 1800's. He died young. He married and settled in Troy, NY.

Browsing through Surname Navigator link - many results found - takes time to sort out what is useful
My line goes back to Cornwall in the 1600's.
