I am not a scientist or in the medical field. I am not an expert. I can tell you that I developed high blood pressure, extremly high chlolesterol,Divroticulitus and Type 1 diabetes all approx 2 years after completing my last diet. The type 1 Diabetes was a big surprise at the age of 48 I would have suspected type 2 if anything at all. I dont know if this information will help anyone make a decision to try this diet or not.It didnt work so well for me!!

But other than that I really loved the diet I wish I didn't get those side effects from it

I gained 65lbs leaving me at 232lbs after birth but within 6 mths I had lost 70lbs using ATKINS and excersing!!! I stopped in sept (atkins/excersice) and continued to loose weight even after starting back on my old eating habbits. I lost another 25lbs WITH OUT TRYING!! now fast forward to July 2009 after my 2nd born I have lost over 40lbs without ATKINS/EXCERSICE... My point is right after trying atkins I have not gained one pound (besides from pregnancy) I always wonder if the Diet has "switched" something because now I would like to gain some weight I find myself to thin.....but I CANT!! Any one experience this????
