Comments: I'm a descendant as well, my mother is Joan Meighan (no.143 on the chart), and my great grandfather was James Isadore Meighan. We used to visit him on the farm when I was little, I thought he was raising bunnies for pets. Silly me! He had a knack for always moving your photo to the front of the china hutch when you were visiting. He kept that up even when he moved into that house in town.

Comments: Great site...I descended from Bill, Sr. and Mattie, Martin J. and Susan (a.k.a. Maude), William M. and Elizabeth, John, Jr. and Nancy and John, Sr. and Elizabeth. I'm going to the "motherland" this summer with my sister, Mary Carol and our spouses. Up until tonight I had no idea where to go in Ireland to seek my roots. Was John, Sr. from Tipperary Co.? The Salmi Record only noted he was born in Ireland and did not list a hometown. Do you know it? Thanks.

Comments: I just had dinner with my mom last night and we talked about going to Ireland next year. She then mentioned that she had come across your website, as we are also descendants from John Burke. John and Nancy are my great-great grandparents, Mary Burke and Thomas Ryan are my great grandparents, and Francis Ryan amd Mary Taylor are my grandparents. My mom is Catherine Ryan and my dad is Donald Sleeper, both are from Clinton,Ia. It was very interesting and great fun checking out your website. I also have the same picture of John and Nancy Burke that you have on the first page, I just wasn't really sure who they were. I have a few more pictures that I can email you, maybe you would know who they are. Keep up the good work!
