I was Chairman of the Canadian Kennel Club Junior Showmanship Council for many years,and always enjoy hearing/reading about Junior activities Juniors is Canada is flourishing,and has been for the last 10 or more years,in reality structured competitions being held in British Columbia and Alberta for the last 40 years--these competitions were started by well known All Breed Judges that took Juniors under their wing and taught them well. Until 2001 Pedigree sponsored local and National Finals, but have withdrawn their support from then on. I-AMS have takend over and have sponsored the National winner for the trip to Crufts. The 2003 Natioanl Finals were held October 18th in Regina Saskatchewan. Jenna Cruthers of Saskatchewan was the overall winner,Jessica Rock-Nova Scotia & Newfoundland was Runner Up, Amy Thomason-Ontarioi East was 3rd and Jennifer Ellison-Ontario North was 4th This is the second time Jenna has represented Canada at Crufts,in her previous attendance she was Reserve Winner.
