Comments: hello emory! I believe we have a link somewhere down the line. My maternal grandmother was Magnolia Mizelle, married into Evans. They lived in bertie county n.c., which is on the line of Bakertown n.c.(a section of Bertie on the Cashie river). This family plot of land, inhabited largely by Bakers and descendents, was given to us by Chief Cucklemaker. Chief C. married Eliazabeth Duneleaux, their son Charney married Elizabeth Harmon, two of their daughters married my paternal great great grandfather, Henry Baker. His first wife Martha 1819-1845 provided a disputed 11 to 13 children, when she died he married her sister known as both Sarah and Sally 1827-1911, providing again 9-15 kids. Cheif C. gave Henry Baker the land that is now Bakertown, for having such a bounty of children. Bakertown houses Ross Church where Cucklemaker (also known as John Cale) was slain. His burial site as well as other Chickasaws are in Bakertown. - Question is what is a cuckle? And how is one made?!

Comments: Emory, a long time ago you sent me an obituary of Emma Blankenbeckler DeBord. At the time I was rather sick and I don't know if I thanked you for it. If I didn't, I want to thank you now! Thanks. Hallie
