Comments: So little survies about Gene(Jean) Malin,who was the master of all masters of ceremonies at the center of the "Pansy Craze" of the late Prohibition era. The search on the web is made more difficult by fact that the two different spellings of his first name (Gene or Jean)do not seem to be interchangeable when searching.

One good website via the spelling-varient of "Gene" is:

Comments: I am doing some research @ The Rocky Twins, Norwegian dancers in the late 20s/30s...discovered that they appeared in Club New Yorker in April 1933. Then saw a photo of the club in the book Out With the Stars & noticed the club was 'managed' or fronted by Jean Malin. Consulted Chauncey Gay NY and then surfed to here! So glad someone else is interested in this period. I want to find out more @ the nighclub scene in NYC & Hollywood & now intrigued by the thought that perhaps the Rocky Twins might have appeared in one of Malin's clubs in NYC....
