Should have 5. Emma Victoria WINKLER b: 8 Aug 1871 Laurel Bloomery, Johnson Co., TN d: 13 Oct 1958, bur: Bethel Cem., Abingdon, VA. Came to Sylvanite Ranger Station on the Yaak River above Libby, MT in 1948 to visit us. First time she was out of the State of VA! Ma and her dad drove to VA to get her and bring her back. She used to take us kids for walks until she found out there were bears in the garbage pit. She lived in Bethel, VA. It was the old home place during the CW. Never had a bathroom in it!. When she visited in us in the Yaak, She always used the outdoor 2 holer. She said that she figured that if she used the indoor one, Mr. Russell would hear her.

Nice to view my family history. I am a city councilwoman and love my job. My goal is to change laws relating to 'grandparents who want "rights' to their own grandchildren who, by some means, have lost connection with their parents. Currently the states have no laws for grandparents. The state dictates who the grandchild will live with. My own grandbaby is in a foster adopt home. Thank you for making this site available! Comments: I've been researching my Cornett line (William Cornett is my 5G Grandfather). I'm curious about a possible link between William Cornett m. Rhoda Gilliam and Archibald Ison m. Mary Gilliam. Both are originally from the Amherst Co, VA area in the Rev. War timeframe. I'm thinking that Rhoda and Mary may have been sisters or cousins.
