I have this thing that goes on in my mind when some of my friends are feeling 'freaked out' about a health threat. I want to believe that we don't need to panic, but that there are some fairly simple steps that we can take to prevent problems. Lice was an issue once and now it's the avian flu. I have some friends who are stocking up freeze dried food and bottled water in their basements in preperation for the 'imminent' pandemic. I find it interesting that on your site you stated that 1/3 of Europe was wiped out by the plague. Indeed, that is huge... but of the 2/3's that survived-is there anything we can learn from them?
