Comments: All women are not able to breastfeed, nor do all choose to do so. I have 3 very healthy children. Two of my children are gifted and one is a toddler who is also very bright.

Several of my friends who have chosen to breastfeed have children who are frequently ill. My children are rarely ill.
None of these "breastfed children" are gifted.
My children have been given formula due to my inablilty to nurse. We practiced attachment parenting and I have always been a stay at home, homeschooling mom.

Your article implies that "bottlefed" children are less healthy and less intelligent. Perhaps you should meet my children!

It is fine if you choose to breastfeed. I find the tone of your article offensive and am curious to know why you must berate formula fed children in order to make yourself feel superior.

How unfortunate for you.

Comments: "Thank you for "Watch your language". I really needed to read these words: Easy, long-term breastfeeding involves forgetting about the "breast" and the "feeding" (and the duration, and the interval, and the transmission of the right nutrients in the right amounts, and the difference between nutritive and non-nutritive suckling needs"...and focusing instead on the relationship. Let's tell mothers that we hope they won't "breastfeed"--that the real joys and satisfactions of the experience begin when they stop "breastfeeding" and start mothering at the breast. Ägree with others about the font and colour though.

Comments: What a wonderful site you have here! I found your site through a search and ended up with the article by Diane Wiessinger, before browsing the rest of your site. I've linked to this piece, I hope you don't mind.
