We have been thru 2 cataract surgeries,too. And frequent skin infections. But today she is doing well. She sees better than I do, and we just take it one day at a time. Of course I dont go anywhere any more without her, but I can travel later. I wont have her forever.

I know you say it’s not a death sentence, you are fooling yourself. I have been through the whole process before and saw a vibrant dog slowly transform into…into well. I blame myself for waiting too long, I didn’t want to let go. The very best that insulin will do is delay the inedible. This time instead of going the insulin route we are trying diet, we will not put another dog through that misery. I am looking for a pill that will work like the ones I use; yes I am diabetic as is my mom. I have been contacting as many areas of learning as I can to see if anything is being done, yes even research. If you now of something please let me know. Tom
