Yes I am Not a Davin but my 4 year old son is. I named my first born son Davin for a few reasons and here they are. Because my wife’s maiden name is Davenport, and we wanted to honor her father whom was at the time, and since has passed, dieing of cancer. Besides we couldn’t call him Gill Pettin-gill (he would have gotten beaten up in school for sure.) So we thought we would modify Daven-port, but Daven did not have a clear meaning. We looked up baby names and Davin was the spelling we found with the meaning of Brightest star. I wanted a cool unique name for him, and blanket was already taken. (too bad) Hopefully in a few years from now he will be surfing the web and come across this Davin sight. Maybe he’ll start reading all the posts and come across the one I am posting. And maybe he’ll realize how happy he has made me and my wife and find out why his name is Davin. And how much we love him as our son. Best wishes to you all. James
