hi, I hope this isn't an intrusion - it was difficult finding a means to communicate with you. i've been surfing everywhere to get definitive info on tv tuner-capture-edit packages for laptop (i.e., usb 2/firewire) and just can't find good info - no comprehensive reviews of competing products and incomplete reviews of individual products. when I hit your review of the plextor convertx unit at epinions it was down to the plextor and hauppauge wintv pvr usb 2, but not only did your opinion knock plextor out of the box, it made me fear the hauppauge product because I have not found a good review of it - just respect for its equivalent PCI card product and seeming good specs. i don't need anything too fancy - justdecent video quality from TV input, with easy cutting and pasting clips for class (I'm a TA in history)and meeting (also a full-time environmental advocate) presentations. any help would be appreciated. silence, given the difficulty of reaching you, will be understood. thanks. |
