Comments: I am searching for any family records concerning my 3great grandfather John Connelly and his wife Nancy Connelly, the parents of David B. Connelly, who helped solicite funds after the 1845 tornado. I am hoping there may still be some information out there available. John and Nancy are buried at Wrights Chapel Cemetary close to Enoch Wright and his wife Rachel.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

Comments: Hello! I am so glad to have your web site available to use...I visit it on a regular basis. I also appreciate getting the church newsletter in my mailbox when it comes out.

I am one of the direct desendants of the Wright Family -- and so I have been invited to Wright's Church several times throughout my lifetime as some special celebrations were held -- the last one being when the cemetery was rededicated 4 or 5 years ago.

I am happy to announce that I am planning on adding to the "Wright Family History" by getting married at Wright's Church this year! It should be a very special event for not only myself, but for my entire family. My father, a retired United Methodist preacher in the Western PA Conference, is, I think, especially touched that my fiancee and I have chosen Wright's Church as the place where we want marry.

We look forward to visiting the church and your new pastor, Rev. Lindahl, very very soon. Until then, may God continue to bless your church and all the people who call it "home."

Blessings,
Karen Wright

Comments: Very interesting to read your church's history and about the Wright family. Thank you for posting it online. Our direct ancestor, Abram Van Wye, married the granddughter, Charity Laird, of Jacob Wright & Charity Sauns. It also happens that his brother, James Van Wye, married her sister, Jane Laird. Enoch Wright's sister, Lydia Wright was their mother & John Laird was their father. There were many Van Wye's in the 1800s named Enoch or Enoch Wright in his honor and others with Wright as their middle name. In fact it was Enoch Wright Van Wye [born in 1832] who in 1901 wrote the "History of the Van Wye People" article used as the foundation and starting point for all our family's historians. He included a glowing description of his great-uncle Enoch Wright and his positive impact on his corner of the world there in Washington County.
I would appriciate the opportunity to communicate with your historian about her sources for Charity Sauns background. [I have been trying for years to make the Harris family connection. Harris folks I've contacted claim they never heard of her except in the "Beers Washington County History".] Apparently, none of John Harris' daughters married a man named Sauns / Sawin / Sayin - which I must admit in fact seems to be the case, so far.
If interested, I will be pleased to share with you the data I have found on a woman that I think may be our Charity Saun / Sawin, as well as the rational for this possibiity.
Thank you for perhaps sharing your on location expertise and knowledge of the family.
