Always take a name when making telephone inquiries to ease follow-up calls
Keep receipts and other records of all transactions
Do not pay attention to signs that say: no refund/no returns, they are illegal
Do not give money without proper knowledge of your seller...contact information must be valid.
Do not give money to anybody claiming to be landowners/homeowners until you have contacted the appropriate authority to verify their claim
Persistence pays! Remember the story of the old woman and the judge. Be polite but firm.
Always remember to thank the person who helped you. You build a good rapport and strengthen goodwill for the next time you need assistance, and it makes the other person feel good.
Practise smiling even on the phone. It takes the sting out of any bad comments you may have to relay!
Sometimes it's nice to be nice. And sometimes it actually pays to be nice.
Read customer reviews of products you want to purchase before you buy to get an idea of what others think of the product.
