1) Currently IQMs at all GABA schools say that there are no students, so teachers are forced to hang about with no lessons, unless of course they're willing to teach every weekend/ national holiday and every single evening till 10:40 pm. At the same time, GABA is recruiting almost insanely -- falsely offering new teachers a wonderful "flexible schedule" and a great life!!!!!!!! 2) The whole 5-star instructor thing is a load of crap as teachers often practically prostitute themselves to get students to rate them highly! Common ways are complimenting female students on clothes, genkiness, accessories etc (has anyone ever studied the male-female student ratio in these ratings??)
I have been working for GABA since January, and now it is June. I have found it an OK place to work. Certainly, it fits my schedule, teaching two nights a week, and my schedule is pretty full. Others, especially those who work during the day do not have full schedules. The turnover is large. They are always adding new people. Don't believe the 5/5 ratings bonuses. At least at the office that I teach, they do not promote the ratings and no one is rated. I am lucky if 1 student out of 100 rates my lesson and then often they are not 5/5. I thought that I might be able to make extra money, more than the 1400 or so, by getting 5/5 ratings (highest ratings). But few students submit ratings, and the staff NEVER promotes them.
