Sister Silvia and her Booby Aisle
hi, I'm Pat Miller, class of '59 - Sr. Mary Silvia stands out-her booby aisle & the boys picking pussys (dust balls) up off the floor in the back of the room. she also liked to sprinkle the boys with holy water. and those memorized tests. smacks on the face as you kneeled in front of her as a punishment, and yes, the poker, ouch! i also remember Sr. Richard Mary, Sr. Mary Ursula, Sr. Mary Prudens, Mother Mary Osonna, Sr. Mary Hugh - all women to remember, they helped to shape our lives in one way or another.
Sr. Mary Prudens and Sr. Mary Hugh were my favorite nuns. They were the nicest nuns in the school. I remember in eight grade in May she gave us her talk. She sent the boys out to talk to the girls, then it was the boys turn. She didn't know that the boys were right below the window and heard everything. Sister Sylvia was the most memorable. I didn't know I could memorize like I did until I was in her room. No lunch recess. You had to memorize the whole test paper, questions and answers and you better get them in order. I miss St.Ray's and the meadows. I feel privileged to have known both. Terry Slotterback 59'

How can you forget Sister Sylvia and her cat and 9 tails also that little clicker she used to crack you over the knuckles with. Sister Imelda the music teacher was a sweetheart.
Sister Sylvia ahh yes I am the guy that pulled his hand back and she hit her knee with that stupid clicker She wasn't too happy about that.I wonder what would happen today if a teacher did those types of things to kids ?
I think we all remember Sr. Silvia with varying memories & feelings. I was scared to death of her!! But, when I was ready to graduate from hs she asked me if I had a job & when I replied I didn't have one yet she said she would pray for me until I got one. That was a nice thing for her to do. I'll never forget her for that!
Hi, I`m Laura Stallbaum class of `51, & my favorite sister was Sister Marie Jerome, our 8th grade nun, her feast day was the same day as my birthday, and she was a gentle nun. I really liked her.
